Admission Process
Undergraduate applicants must complete and submit the online application and required documents until the deadline. If you experience any difficulties with registration or online application, please contact us at +7(7172)69-46-95 and dtukayeva@nu.edu.kz
To apply:
STEP 1. Create your personal account
Register on www.admissions.nu.edu.kz portal to create a Personal Account. Read the instructions about the application procedure given in your Personal account.
STEP 2. Complete your Application Form and attach required documents
Fill out the application form and attach the required documents:
The application fee is paid online via your personal account with a bank card.
The amount to pay is 5 000 tenge. Please be kindly informed that the application fee increases three times its established amount for applicants who pay the application fee within the last two weeks before the first officially approved deadline and/or during the extension period for application for participation in the admissions process for the Undergraduate programs (except Bachelor in Nursing (2-year) program of the School of Medicine). All application fees are non-refundable.
Step 4. Finish the registration process
Finish the registration process by pressing the “Submit application” button. After submission applicants can’t change their applications.
Step 5. Upload IELTS/TOEFL certificates
Upload IELTS/TOEFL certificates in your personal account in section "Upload IELTS/TOEFL" and fill up required information about the certificate.

Check your e-mail for notifications from the NU Admissions Department and your personal account to learn about your application status.

- Scanned copy of a National ID card or passport;
- Scanned copy of secondary school or higher education institution certificate (attestat/diploma) with final academic performance or certificate from the school (spravka) according to the sample in the personal account;
- Motivation letter in English;
- Valid copies of certificates. The results of standardized tests must be sent directly to the University through test administrators.

Programs related
Education at the undergraduate level is carried out on the basis of the “Nazarbayev University” educational grant, other grants and scholarships, as well as on a fee basis. Enrollment to the undergraduate programs of the Schools is performed on a competitive basis for available places of the first and/or second academic year at the University.

Nazarbayev University Foundation Year Program (NUFYP) is a new preparatory program designed to give all students the opportunity to experience the whole range of options before finally commiting to their chosen undergraduate track. The main purpose of the program is to help students to develop the skills, knowledge, understanding, attitudes and behaviours required to undertake further advanced study in their chosen field of study.
Master’s program provides the opportunity to study at “Zero year of Master`s programs”- a two-semester, full-time intensive English and content course program for students to NUmaster’s programs who lack the English requirement necessary for immediate entry.
Yes, academic programs include internship opportunities as part of learning process.
No, it is optional. However, it is recommended for those applicants, who have GPA of lower than 2.75 out of 4.0 to have at least 2 years of relevant technical experience.
There is a Career and Advising Center in Nazarbayev University that is designed to encourage student excellence in career development and preparation as well as facilitate the acquisition of a job prior to graduation by organization of student internship, employer presentations in Nazarbayev University and professional development Program, tours and job fairs. At the same time, internships can be useful as a pathway to land a job.

To complete an undergraduate degree students have to earn 120 credits in 4 years of study.

SMG is open for accepting students from local universities, scholars to do research in the laboratories and faculty members to give guest lectures.

Yes, there are scholarship options for international students. The key requirement is to demonstrate excellent academic performance during the application process (statement of purpose, GPA, reference letter and interview)
Nazarbayev University provides accommodation on campus, in case of availability. The rooms are for 2-4 people and are equipped with all the required conveniences.
The “Nazarbayev University” educational grant covers tuition fee and other expenses related to education process. For undergraduate students, the stipend amount is based on the students’ academic performance - GPA.
