Programs
- Geologists are specialists who study Earth processes, explore for mineral resources, and develop extraction methods. Geologists work in mineral resource development, environmental protection, and land rehabilitation after mining operations.
- Mining engineers work at mineral extraction enterprises. They are responsible for organizing and managing mining operations, which include the extraction, recovery, and transportation of minerals from a mine.
- Petroleum Engineering is a field of engineering focused on the exploration and production of oil and natural gas. Petroleum engineers are responsible for extracting hydrocarbon resources from oil and gas reservoirs.
- The PhD program in Geosciences is designed to provide advanced skills and sophisticated knowledge at the expert level for individuals planning a geoscience research career in industry and/or academia.
- The PhD program in Mining Engineering is designed to provide advanced skills and a sophisticated knowledge base at the expert level for individuals planning a career in
academic, industry and research settings in any of the subfields of the Mining Engineering discipline. - The PhD program in Petroleum Engineering designed to provide advanced skills and an expert-level knowledge base for individuals planning careers in academia, industry, and research institutions in petroleum engineering.
