NU SMG alumnus received full funded PhD scholarship in Canada

Alumnus of NU SMG, class of 2020, Nursultan Iliyas (MSc Mining Engineering) started his PhD study in the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. Nursultan completed his master thesis under supervision of Dr. Nasser Madani in the area of Geostatistics and Resource Estimation and published one journal and one conference paper out of his thesis. Nursultan’s study is fully funded by the Motion Metrics hi-tech company in Canada. In the University of British Columbia he will work with Prof. Bern Klein under the thesis research entitled "A Machine Vision and AI-Based Solution for Optimal Comminution in Mineral Processing Circuits" with focus on Geostatistics and geometallurgical modelling of copper mines.
