On June 4–5, 2025, the School of Mining and Geosciences at Nazarbayev University provided academic support for the preparation of students for the II Republican Field Olympiad of Young Geologists “Zhas Geolog – 2025.” At the request of the Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Physics and Mathematics in Astana, university professors delivered free lectures on campus for participating students.
The training camp welcomed over 60 students from various cities of Kazakhstan, including students from Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools, the specialized “Zerde” Lyceum in Astana, and other general education institutions.

The sessions focused on developing practical skills, including field mapping, geological documentation, analysis of geological hazards, and understanding of rock formation processes.
The closing ceremony was held on June 7 at the NIS of Physics and Mathematics in Astana. Participants received certificates and letters of appreciation. All speakers, lecturers, and organizers were also recognized for their contributions. A video titled “UTC 2025 – Through the Eyes of the Participants” was presented, followed by a cultural program featuring national dances and songs.
