Mr. Sultan Abulkhair, Nazarbayev University School of Mining and Geosciences alumni of class of 2021, has published his third journal paper under the supervision of Dr. Nasser Madani, Assistant Professor of Nazarbayev University School of Mining and Geosciences. The paper entitled "Stochastic modeling of iron in coal seams using two-point and multiple-point geostatistics: A case study" is published in Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration, the flagship journal of the Society for Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration Inc. (SME). This work presents an application of Multiple-Point Statistics for modelling coal seam layers as geological domains. The findings demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method in reproducing long-range connectivity of layered structures. Sultan Abulkhair was working as a research assistant during his Master's in the research group of Dr. Nasser Madani and now doing a PhD in Geostatistics and resource estimation in the University of Adelaide, Australia.
