Announcing New Editorial Board Member from SMG, NU – January 2024

Professor Ata Akcil as Editorial Board Member has joined to International Journal of Mining Science and Technology (Online ISSN: 2589-062X; Print ISSN: 2095-2686). The journal at the highest level around the world in the fields of mining is being added to the most competitive journal indexes, such as Web of Science and Scopus for a long time. It was founded in 1990 and publishes original and innovative research papers and high-quality reviews covering the latest advances on theories, methodologies, and applications in the fields of mining sciences and technologies. It also provides an international exchange forum for the readers and authors all over the world engaging in mining sciences and technologies. The journal welcomes article submissions dealing with: Mining Engineering, Mine Safety Science and Technology, Mineral Processing, Geomechanics and Geoengineering, Geological Engineering, Mining Environment and Sustainable Development. Biography of Professor Ata Akcil

Professor Ata Akcil is a registered mining engineer with 33 years of experience in mineral processing and extractive metallurgy engineering, research, teaching, and consulting. He had a full-professor position in 2010 at SDU, Turkey. He is also senior expert for critical&strategic raw materials and resource recovery, and he is globally experienced and trained in mineral processing and hydrometallurgy. He has authored or co-authored numerous papers and presentations (200 peer-reviewed and 75 proceedings) with 11,780 citations and 48 h-index (Google Scholar). He has directed research for more than 60 graduate students and post-docs. He has taught mineral processing, mining and environment, extractive metallurgy, critical raw materials, and university courses for the past 33 years. He is active in many reputed journals as associate editor and editorial board member (International Journal of Mining Science and Technology; Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration-SME; Waste Management; Hydrometallurgy). He has been an adjunct professor at the Beijing University of Chemical Technology since Sept. 2023. He has received 25 awards and honors in his research areas.
