School of Mining and Geosciences in Nazarbayev University in collaboration with Nazarbayev University Research and Innovation System (NURIS) has got an agreement with Research & Development Engineering Center of ERG in a mining project entitled "Geostatistical Estimation and Analysis of Iron Distribution in the Shubarkol Coal Deposit".
The key members in this project are Dr. Nasser Madani (Principal Investigator), Dr. Laurent Richard (Co- Principal Investigator) and two students of Mining Engineering Department as research assistants. The idea of this project includes 3D spatial estimation and modelling of iron distribution in Shubarkol coal deposit located in Karagandy region. The results are then applicable for further analysis of mine planning and economic considerations.
