Students of Nazarbayev University School of Mining and Geosciences study not only in classrooms and in labs, but they also go to educational field trips, where they have the opportunity to learn in a natural environment and gain a better understanding of topics. This year the first field trip was to Aktau between 10th and 14th March under the supervision of Dr. Milovan Fustic, Associate Professor of NU SMG. During the field trip GEOL 204 students have received an intense training that includes components such as outcrop description, logging, and mapping. Students’ tasks include a range of individual and group assignments and labs. As a part of educational field trip, students visited KMG Engineering's KAZNIPI Lab where they got with core samples to analyze.
