On January 29, 2022, Nazarbayev University School of Mining and Geosciences along with the Zhas Geologist Corporate Foundation selected participants for the International Earth Science Olympiad 2022 (IESO 2022), which will be held online from August 24 to 30, 2022. IESO is an international Earth Science Olympiad that covers subjects such as geology, geophysics, meteorology, oceanography, astronomy. IESO is open to high school students. This year 8 high school students were selected from Kazakhstan to participate in IESO 2022. Now the winners of the qualifying round will start intensive preparation for IESO 2022.
